The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was introduced and reservations commenced on December 20, 2022. It is only offered in one model, which costs Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). With a range of 631 kilometres, it is one of the most cheap long-range EVs (ARAI). It has power adjustable seats, a panoramic glass roof, and driver-assistance technology.

Hyundai began reservations for its flagship vehicle, the Ioniq 5 EV, on December 20, 2022. The EV has now received over 650 orders in India, which is a good figure for a premium EV. The Ioniq 5 is domestically produced in India, allowing Hyundai to price the EV more competitively than some of its competitors, who are imported as completely built-up units (CBUs).

Although its Rs 44.95 lakh price tag may be prohibitively expensive for the ordinary car consumer, the Ioniq 5 EV has a respectable range – 631km according to ARAI. It has a battery pack with a capacity of 72.6kWh and supports ultra-fast DC charging. When charged at its maximum rate, the battery may be recharged to 80% in just 18 minutes.

Premium features include motorised, comfort-oriented Relaxation seats, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone AC, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) technology to power external gadgets and appliances.

The Ioniq 5 receives driver-assistance technology such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and front collision avoidance.

The Ioniq 5 EV is available in a single long-range, rear-drive (RWD) configuration that costs Rs 44.95 lakh, which is less than the EV’s main competitors, the Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge. Customers are expected to begin receiving the Ioniq 5 soon.
