Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between Sony and Honda, will make a significant announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 4. The joint venture plans to begin manufacturing its first electric vehicle in 2026. Following the North American area, the second market will be Japan, followed by a debut in Europe. According to Sony Honda Mobility, the vehicle does not yet have a name. The JV also claims that using subscription services would boost the vehicle’s worth. Furthermore, there have been rumours that the car’s entertainment system would have a fully working PlayStation 5. Honda will offer its engineering skills and understanding of automobile manufacture to the joint venture with Sony. It is unknown who will be responsible for providing after-sales service.
Honda has just debuted its next zero-emission concept, the 2024 Prologue. At CES in January, Sony unveiled a new EV concept named the Vision-S 02 (the interior of which is shown in the photo above).
