Audi UK is the first car manufacturer in the UK to receive such an accreditation across 100% of its entire network of 113 centers. The EVA accreditation was developed by the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) and endorsed by the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV)
Audi UK has demonstrated its commitment to becoming the leading provider of sustainable transportation once again, this time by earning the Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) certificate. Despite having one of the largest retail networks in the UK, this is the first time a car manufacturer in the UK has received such an accreditation across 100% of its entire network of 113 centers.
Audi’s achievement reflects the company’s leadership in electric vehicle development, and the EVA accreditation is a clear demonstration of electric vehicle knowledge across all sectors of the automotive retail market.
The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) established the EVA accreditation, which was recognised by the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and independently audited by Energy Saving Trust. The EVA was introduced in 2019 to encourage merchants to expand their knowledge of electric vehicles and to boost consumer confidence as the industry shifts toward EVs.
Customers will enjoy a friendly environment centred on the EV culture, unbiased assistance in making the switch to an EV, exceptional levels of product knowledge, EV-trained and accredited technicians, on-site chargers, EV courtesy cars, and more thanks to the EVA standards.
“Audi has a clear and unshakable commitment to electric cars – from 2026, every new model we unveil will be totally electric,” said Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK. As a result, it’s critical that our skills and experience are utilised throughout the organisation and visible to all – especially our consumers.”
“Being the first manufacturer in the UK to achieve 100% network EVA accreditation speaks volumes about our first-rate teams across our dealer network and at Audi UK.” We are responding to rapid customer interest in our electric vehicles by providing our company and employees with the tools and training they need to provide our customers with a seamless and confident experience as we accelerate the transition to a fully electric future.”
As part of the EVA accreditation, each Audi Center is independently audited by the Energy Saving Trust to verify that they conform to a set of regulations relevant to EV sales and after-sales. These include customer qualification procedures, staff education and training, EV demonstration and handover procedures, and the provision of EV service bays and charging stations on-site.
In the first ten months of 2022, Audi UK sold 9,781 electric vehicles, a 12.6% increase over the same period last year. The e-tron SUV and e-tron Sportback, the e-tron GT and high-performance RS e-tron GT, as well as the steadily rising Q4 e-tron SUV and Q4 Sportback e-tron, are all fully electric vehicles currently available. Audi Centers will also welcome the new Q8 e-tron family in March 2023. Over the next three years, Audi plans to add at least 20 fully electric vehicles to its lineup.
National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA)
Sue Robinson, Chief Executive of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), which launched the EVA scheme, commented on Audi’s success, saying, “Audi reaching 100 percent EVA accreditation across its entire UK network is an incredible achievement and another significant milestone for the NFDA’s EVA scheme itself.” The financial investment and devotion required to achieve this underscore Audi’s commitment to decarbonizing UK transportation and its competence in the EV retailing industry. We are thrilled to announce that one of the most well-known car manufacturers is now 100 percent electric vehicle approved.”
“Due to the program’s rapid expansion, consumers looking to make the switch to electric will be able to do so at an increasing number of EVA sites, benefiting from knowledgeable sales staff, a wider range of EV models, and improved EV facilities and charging points.” All of these will help to boost customer confidence and drive EV adoption. We hope that Audi is the first of many to achieve 100 percent accreditation as the scheme gains traction and expands its dealership coverage in the UK.”
Audi has ramped up its electric mobility strategy, with every new car released after 2026 being entirely electric. Audi’s new EVA accreditation also demonstrates the company’s commitment to the EV sector and EV adoption. The EVA is a great programme for manufacturers like Audi because it can highlight the strengths and weaknesses of dealerships across the UK while also assisting in ensuring a positive experience for potential EV buyers throughout all stages of shopping for a new EV.
In the United Kingdom, the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers. In the UK, there are over 4,500 franchise outlets and over 540,000 people employed in the automotive retail sector.
The NFDA and its partners created EVA, which stands for Electric Vehicle Approved. The EVA Scheme is a set of standards for retail and aftersales establishments that specify what a customer should expect an EV dealer to know and do.
The EVA badge gives you peace of mind that you are dealing with an expert in the electric vehicle sector. Find an EVA business in your area to make sure that your next electric car purchase or service is smooth and easy.
The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) created the EVA accreditation system in 2019 to encourage retailers to improve their competence in the electric vehicle industry and to boost consumer trust as the market shifts toward EVs. The Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) endorses and funds the EVA initiative, which is independently audited by Energy Saving Trust.
